Welcome Brady Smith!
We are very excited to share that Brady Smith will be joining us as our Summer Ministry Intern for 2013! Brady will be wrapping up his Sophomore year at Eastern Nazarene College in the coming weeks and joining us here in Ellsworth in early May.
A Maine native, Brady was born in Bangor and raised in Brewer. He has five siblings and grew up playing sports. He graduated from Brewer High School in 2011 with high honors where he was a member of the National Honors Aociety, helped start a local FCA chapter, and played FIVE sports – Football, Baseball, Basketball, Indoor Track, Outdoor Track.
Entering his junior year at Eastern Nazarene College, Brady is studying Religion and Criminal Justice, is a member of the baseball team, and serves as a resident assistant. On top of all this, he serves as chaplain for the Resident Assisants, ENC Gospel Choir, and Junior class. At ENC, Brady says, “the opportunities are so incredible that I cannot see myself anywhere else. I love joining and expanding the many ministries on campus like Gospel Choir, it is so amazing to go a school where I can see God working everyday.”
He describes his favorite things as Boston Sports, country music, food, being outside and going for hikes, wiffle ball, being on the water, fishing and most importantly letting people know how fantastically amazing Jesus is.
In the summers Brady works as an Assistant Harbor Master and dockhand at the Northeast Harbor Marina in Northeast Harbor. He has worked many odd jobs before, including: retail, line cook, demolition, kitchen manger, and paper delivery boy – wherever people needed help.
In preparation for this summer, Brady says, “This is my first opportunity to get to work consistently with a church group and I have never been so excited in my life!”
We are very excited too Brady! God bless you as you finish out your year at ENC and we look forward to getting to know you and serving together!
